IISBR faculty affiliate and salivary bioscience researcher Dr. Sheila Ohlsson Walker was the inaugural recipient of the newly-launched Sachiko Kuno Award for Applied Science Award. Dr. Walker’s project aims to achieve measurable social impact by translating research from the fields of neurobiology, genetics, epigenetics, and endocrinology into accessible language that can be applied to enhance educational outcomes, promote healthy behavior, reduce rates of chronic disease, and optimize health and learning throughout life.
