Maternal intimate partner violence exposure, child cortisol reactivity and child asthma

April 21, 2016 by IISBR

Background: Study investigates association between intimate partner violence (IPV) exposure and increased risk of childhood asthma, and assesses whether this relationship differs by child HPA reactivity. Findings support the theory that children who are physiologically reactive are the most vulnerable to adverse health outcomes when faced with environmental stressors.
